Kitchen and Dining Areas

Our kitchen is set up so that you can cook a meal and still visit with your friends. We have a gas range and oven, a microwave and many other conveniences. We’ve put a general list at the bottom of this page. The entire house has purified water, so you can cook or make ice without worrying.

Again, we have equipped the kitchen with local handcrafts. The dishes and wall tile are from Dolores Hidalgo. The glassware was hand-blown in San Miguel. We have a chocolate pot that was made in Tzintzuntzan. The cantera statue of St. Michael the Archangel was carved in Escolasticas. The bar stools and pierced tin pendant lamps were made for us in San Miguel.

The dining area features a table and chairs that were made for us in Rancho Santa Clara. We had them upholstered right in San Miguel. The artwork is by local San Miguel artists.

Amalia, our wonderful housekeeper, is also an accomplished cook. She will cook breakfast and comida for you, if you choose. On the other hand, you may decide to cook for yourself. The choice is up to you. (We always have her cook!) You may never use the dishwasher, as Amalia will be at the house every day to clean.
